About CWIT

The Cusrow Wadia Institue of Technology, Pune was started by the Modern Education Society, Pune. The Society itself was founded by late Prin. V.K. Joag, an eminent educationist and late Sir Cusrow Wadia, an industrialist of repute. This institute made an humble beginning in 1938 with setting up of department of Applied electricity. Since then the institute has made rapid progress and today it is full-fledge Polytechnic with multifarious activities under its umbrella. The Milestones are as under;

Thus the institute has completed 67 years of its yeomen services for the cause of Technical Education

WORKLOAD :

Workload of a teacher should not be less than 40 hours a week of which teaching contact hours should be as follows :

Principal

14 hours / week

Lecturers ( Senior Scale / Selection Grade)

18 hours / week

Lecturers

For the above stipulation, one tutorial hour / one laboratory hour will be counted as one teaching hour.

5 years experience in teaching / industry / research at the level of Lecturer in equivalent.

Qualification and Experience Master’s degree in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology with First class at Master’s or Bachelor’s level

OR

Ph.D. in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology / Technician Education.

NOTE : Candidates from Industry with First Class Bachelor’s degree in Appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology, and with industrial experience which is equivalent in Master’s degree, with total 15 years of experience of which at least 5 years would be at level comparable with Head of Department, will be also be eligible.

15 years experience in teaching out of which at least 5 years shall be at the level of Head of Department or equivalent.

 

10 years experience in teaching out of which at least 3 years shall be at the level of Head of Department or equivalent.
